UK organisations face their real deadline for PCI compliance in September 2010. A recent UK survey revealed that currently, only 12 percent of level 1-4 organisations are PCI compliant - a surprisingly low figure, given that UK organisations witnessed the brand damage, huge fines and legal troubles US organisations faced after experiencing costly breaches.
Attitudes toward compliance remain less than optimal, despite the high availability of funding and staff to tackle PCI compliance and strong support from senior management.
